The Hello Kitty Cafe, a pop-up cafe that is in Irvine at the Spectrum, decided to get some wheels and travel around! The cute, pink Hello Kitty Cafe truck is driving all over the US and some of their first stops were in Los Angeles. I was able to go to their stop at Del Amo in Torrance with Jenny and Zanda to see what they had!
More after the jump!
If you are into super kawaii things, it’s definitely worth the stop. While the food was adorable, it was pretty mediocre. My favorites were the macarons and the donuts. My least favorite were the cookies (they were worse than no-brand store-bought sugar cookies). The shirt they had was very cute but I don’t wear pink very much so I didn’t end up getting it, but I, of course, bought a mug! I’ve used the mug quite a bit since then and the quality seems to be good.
The line for the truck was busy but not as insane as I anticipated it to be. The first people in line arrived at 4:45AM (craaaazy, right?!) but we arrived around 9:30AM (it opened at 10). It was, however, super slow once the truck opened. We were pretty close to the front of the line but we still had to wait about an hour to go place our order.
You can see the truck’s schedule for their stops here.
